Description

Meet Parry the Flexi Pencil! He is a Parts Print, so NO AMS needed!

He enjoys playing with his friends (stayed tuned!), practicing his letters, and perfecting his pictures. He can't wait for school to start!

UPDATE: There are now 2 versions to this print. The original print, VERSION ONE, has pieces that fit very tightly together. Due to this, the assembly can be difficult, but glue is only required on the eyes. Everything else should stay together without glue.

VERSION TWO has looser pieces. Assembly will be easier, but will require glue to keep everything together.

The bodies for both versions are sized the same, so you are welcome to print a body from either profile and use the pieces interchangeably. I hope that this helps with any assembly difficulties!

You can add text in bambu studio and set the extrusion and everything. then just color the last 4 layers to black.

I love the idea I was going to print some out for my kids for school but I printed out 15 fails before I finally got 1 to work and when I tried putting it together the wooden end didn't even fit

I'm sorry this one didn't work for you. I know the pieces are a pretty tight fit. This was one of yhe first printa I designed and I didn't have the sizing figured out yet. I've been able to press them together, but I've heard others have sized down some pieces. as for the fails, I'm not sure what the issue would be. I haven't had that problem with this print before.

These turned out fantastic! Thank you for sharing your model with us. I printed these for my grandson to give to his teachers at school. He will give the large ones to his teachers and the small ones to his teacher's aides.

As a 4th grade teacher, I absolutely LOVE this model! However, the tolerances were a little too tight, specially the tan/wooden part of the pencil. Even my husband wasn't able to force the pieces together, so we need to scale them down just slightly. Overall a FANTASTIC model! Thank you so much for creating it!

Any tips on getting these pieces to fit together? I printed a batch for students not knowing the pieces wouldn’t fit. If I have to size down, how do I know how much to size down?

The pieces are definitely a tight fit. I use two approaches. I use a hard surface, like a table, to press the pieces in (this works well for the wood and led piece). For the black rings I use a kitchen scraper to apply pressure to each side of the ring and slowly push it into the position I want it to be in. At some point I'm hoping to make a new print profile with looser tolerances for those who want it. I hope this helps!

There is now a print profile with pieces that fit more loosely. They will fit the original pencil I hope that this helps.
