This is a carabiner clip for Princess medallions. These medallions are used on Princess cruises, to open your stateroom door, to order drinks to your lounge chair, etc.
Clip it to your beltloop, or your shirt button, or your purse or backpack. Use your imagination!
Your Princess medallion should snap into the holder fairly easily, and hold snugly. If you push your thumb against the Princess medallion from the back side, you should also be able to remove it easily. After printing, the “gate” piece will need to be inserted into the clip. The gate is intended to flex, so do not worry about flexing it when you are assembling the clip. Look at the photos for an example of how it goes together.
The snap-in feature that secures the Princess medallion works best with PETG, or a similar filament that can flex without permanently deforming. But you can also probably use PLA if you don't swap medallions a lot.
This is a robust and fully functional spring-loaded carabiner, for 3D printed plastic. But it is not strong enough to hold significant amounts of weight. Do not depend upon it for your safety, or rely upon it for anything you hold dear.
This clip is based upon n.leinad's spectacular model The Suicide Carabiner. It is strong and robust, and features a well-designed spring-loaded clip. I made significant changes to the shape of n.leinad's clip in order to accommodate a holder for Princess Medallions.
I also incorporated parts of CPTinkerDude's Princess Medallion Carabiner Holder. I made a lot of changes to the snap-in holder, making the plastic a lot thicker, and reducing the number of cutouts. This should make for a more durable clip.
