Boost Me (for free)

Like this model? If so, hit like button to let other people know. And if this model is saved your old dust buster from getting thrown away, hit the Boost Me button! It's free for you and gives me a little credit toward buying filament for the multiple iterations these take to get right. Thanks!

The hinge broke on my Blacker & Decker Dustbuster Pivot BDH2000PL, so I looked around for something to fix it. I didn't find anything I liked, so I created a new one from scratch. The final version is printed in Bambu PLA Basic Gray, but my development pieces printed fine in Sunlu PLA White. This part will hold the door on when the door is closed. When you open the door, the door is removable. The upside of removing the door when you are dumping the contents in the trash is that you you no longer end up part of the contents into the door. The downside is that sometimes you forget that the door is removable and drop the door in the trash. Either way, at least your dustbuster is usable again!

The original door has a small part retained by a screw. Remove that, and keep the screw. Insert the hinge replacement you just printed and reinstall the screw. Mine is currently just attached with the screw, but it might be a good idea to add some glue so that the little post for the screw isn't bearing so much load.

I got the idea for the general shape from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6915166, but I didn't like the way it fit and that the door wouldn't open all the way without removing it.
