fuel tank cap kawasaki KLX 450r

Fuel cap designed for the 2009 Kawasaki KLX 450R.

This model was created from scratch and is meant to be printed in hydrocarbon-resistant materials. PLA is not recommended, as it may degrade in contact with gasoline. I used nylon filament, which has good chemical resistance.

👉 Key details:

Thread pitch is 6 mm, with a thread width of 3 mm.

No supports are needed for the thread, but they are required for the flat 90° surfaces and the angled outer edge.

The original cap includes an anti-spill system which this version does not have yet. I plan to upload an improved version soon.

I've included the Fusion 360 editable file in case anyone wants to tweak or improve the design.

Variable layer height is recommended for better surface quality on the curved areas.

This is a personal project and I'm an amateur designer, so there may be room for improvements.
