MyBox is a versatile, customizable storage solution designed for makers, hobbyists, and organizers alike. This modular box features adjustable rows and columns with individually sized compartments, perfect for storing small parts, tools, and components. The innovative friction-fit grooved lid ensures a secure closure without the need for additional hardware.

🔧 Tip: After printing, open and close the lid a few times to loosen the friction-fit. This helps smooth out any minor imperfections and ensures the lid doesn’t stick.

 

🔄 Update V2 – Stacking Frame Added

Version 2 introduces an optional stacking frame, allowing multiple boxes to be stacked securely on top of each other. This makes it ideal for modular storage systems, drawers, and travel kits. The frame includes integrated triangular supports in each corner for added rigidity and stability.

You can enable or disable the stacking frame and fine-tune its fit using the frame_tolerance parameter. For best results, adjust the tolerance according to your printer's accuracy.

Note: Due to the corner geometry, supports are required in your slicer to print the stacking frame correctly.

Customize your box and lid using the following parameters:

📦 Box Parameters

  • rows
    Number of horizontal compartments (from top to bottom).
    Example: 3 = 3 rows
  • columns
    Number of vertical compartments (from left to right).
    Example: 4 = 4 columns
  • cell width
    Inner width of each cell (X-direction).
    Example: 20 = 20 mm wide compartments
  • cell length
    Inner length of each cell (Y-direction).
    Example: 25 = 25 mm deep compartments
  • wall thickness
    Thickness of all internal and external walls.
    Example: 1.5 = sturdy walls, still printable
  • wall height
    Height of the walls from the bottom up (not including the groove).
    Example: 15 = 15 mm tall compartments

🔁 Lid & Fit Parameters

  • groove height
    Height of the outer groove ring at the top of the box and corresponding tongue on the lid.
    Example: 5.0 = ensures secure fit
  • tolerance
    Extra spacing to ensure the lid fits without sticking.
    Example: 0.05 = slightly loose, printable on most machines

🎨 Colors (for 3MF download only)

  • colour body
    Color of the main box body.
  • colour lid
    Color of the lid.

🧩 Stacking Frame 

  • stacking frame
    Enables or disables the stacking frame.
  • frame tolerance
    Defines the clearance (in millimeters) between the frame and the outer walls of the box.
  • colour frame
    Color of the frame.

✏️ Text Options

  • Show Text
    Enable to add a custom label or name on the lid.
  • Name
    Your custom text label. Example: "My Pills"
  • Font Choice
    Choose a font like Arial, Comic Neue, Chewy, etc.
  • Font Size
    Size of the text (recommended 6–10 for small lids).
  • Colour Text
    Color of the text (3MF only).

🖼️ SVG Options

  • SVG
    Enable to add a custom SVG graphic to the lid.
  • SVG_File
    File path or name of your uploaded SVG (e.g. logo.svg).
  • SVG Scale
    Resize your SVG for best fit (e.g. 0.5 = half size).
  • Colour SVG
