Description

Describtion:
There are a lot of AMS risers on makerworld and I looked at all of them. Most of them have the same issue: They are large, beefy and need supports to be printed - that means lots of filament are necessary.

I wanted a riser, that uses less than one spool of filament, is very robust, lets me open the top cover so that it stays open for ventilation, has a sufficent opening at the top to work on the printhead and of course has enough room for the AMS.
So I designed my own AMS riser. It is so robust that I can stand on it. With my print settings (see below) it uses 840gr filament and can be printed in about 24 hours. All my settings and the part arrangement on five plates is included in the 3MF file. A step file for your own modifications or remixes can also be downloaded.

Material:
I recommend a sturdy filament like PLA, PLA+ or PLA-CF. Maybe PETG will work but the stationary tensile strength of PLA is just higher. I have chosen PLA-CF from Eryone because I always wanted to try it.

 

Print settings:
You can find my settings in the 3MF file together with the part arrangement on five plates. With my settings the print time is about 24 hours and you will need 840gr filament.

Nozzle: 0.4 mm
Nozzle-Temp: 225°C
Bed-Temp: 60°C
Cooling: 100% @ second layer onwards

Outer Wall: 150mm/s
Inner Wall: 250mm/s
Infill: 200 mm/s
Top Surface: 150 mm/s
Bridge: 50 mm/s

 

Assembly:
Put the parts of the lower half together using the provided connectors. I highly recommend that you use superglue or 2K expoy on the part interfaces for extra stability. Do the same with the top. Then slide the top half on the lower half and secure it with glue. The designed gap between the parts is 0.15mm - that should be no problem for a Bambu printer.

Thank you. This was perfect. I was looking for Quick simple and able to fit on top of my riser for led lights. Bambu PLA-CF.

Magnificent design, functional, robust and beautiful. I put 3 Bambulab logos to decorate it. The middle one covers the union of the front pieces. Quick to print and assemble. Recommendable. Many thanks to the designer!!

I looked at a lot of risers for my X1C"s , found this one and really liked so I made 4 of them. They are working great , thanks for the great project ! I only had a couple of changes that I made. One the AMS likes to move around and I felt it might eventually walk off the top so I designed and printed 4 little cups that I glued to the top of the riser that fit the feet on the AMS. Second not enough light so I added led lights around the inner edge of the Riser and a pwm dimmer to adjust the brightness. If anyone is interested in the stl for the cups or the links for the lighting and dimmer parts let me know and I'll post them. Thanks again for a great project !

Perfect fit for my X1, not too large, and material-efficient. The 25% infill is robust; I use PLA. Do I need glue for bonding? There's a slight warp due to a less clean print bed, causing minor gaps (assembly isn't affected).

Printed with Kingroon PLA and came out really good despite a bit of bad adhesion on some of the edges (not at all related to the model or the profile). All of th connector pieces fit great. Waiting for my P1S upgrade kit before I use it, as it's a bit slippery on the bare P1P top. EDIT: P1S upgrade kit arrived and it fits, looks and works great.

This is great. On the last riser I was using, I would have to take the AMS off, then the glass, then the riser and put the glass back on anytime I didn't want the top vented. Then put it all back when I wanted to vent it again. Now all I need to do is simply slide out the glass and put it on its designated shelf. There's plenty of room to work from the top with the glass completely out too. Thanks for including the step file, it made it nice and easy to add a little Bambu logo on the side.

Sweet Design and intuitive assembly. I used your .3mf to Print on my p1S. I used metallic Blue PLA on a Textured PEI plate. I did encounter some issues with the warping of the Corners closest to the Part cooling fan. I attribute this to the current location of my printer near the window and, over the course of the print, the need to "Luft" the apartment. With some deburring and Glue, I managed to get it all square. Cheers

Came out nice and solid. I had some issues with warpage but that was my fault. now that I have this, I can close the door and leave the top open, my warpage issues have gone away.
