Fully Modular Paint Holder System

A fully modular paint holder system for hobbyists who haven't found a suitable holder.
It can be built on a single level or with multiple platforms.

Hole sizes:
- 26mm / 1 in
- 31mm / 1.2 in
- 36mm / 1.4 in

Caution, assembling the correct number of parts required is a lot of work, but a 3 x 5 template is available.
A rubber mallet is needed for assembly as the parts fit together very tightly (so no gluing is necessary).
Please pay attention to the correct alignment of the parts during assembly, as they sit very firmly together after assembly and it will be very difficult to separate them again.

No adhesive is required, unless you also want to glue the holders and platforms together.

The template shows a 3 x 5 paint holder assembled on 3 levels.
All necessary parts are on the first three print plates.
The first print plate contains the holders with different hole sizes, these should be divided accordingly, you may not need some diameters or more of others.
The second print plate shows the connectors arranged in such a way that you can understand the logic of the assembly and expand it accordingly if more holders are needed.
The third plate contains the corresponding number of platforms in two sizes.

The remaining print plates contain all connecting elements and panels by category.
If it becomes more complex, you should definitely make a drawing and notes.

Caution: Assemble the holders and platforms separately and only put them together at the end.
If you try to hammer the holders onto the platforms with the rubber mallet, the platforms and connectors may break. It is helpful to use the table edge to press/hammer different levels together.

Please consider when choosing the filament:
Many materials have different properties.
Materials that are hard usually break faster, if the material is too soft, it gives way quickly. This can lead to problems during assembly.
For my holder I used PLA Basic (black) and PLA Silk (freshly dried).

Have fun crafting 🤓.
