Description

This is a case I made for CrispyW's MiniCounter v2. It uses cut pieces of filament for the hinge pins and 4x (6mm ⌀ x 3mm) disk magnets to keep the lid closed.

This project was a challenge to myself to make it fully parametric to take advantage of the customize tool on MakerWorld here. In the beginning, you could specify how many pieces wide and deep the case should be in terms of the counters, but I gave up on the depth part when designing the hinge. I just couldn't get it to place itself correctly when changing that parameter.

In the Bambu Studio project, there are options for 10, 16, 24, 40, and 56 slot versions. If you want a different amount of slots, use the customizer tool. I've also included the Fusion project as open source so you can make any changes you want and poke around in there. I'm warning you, it isn't pretty in there 😂. I had to do some really goofy stuff to get this to all work with the customizer tool. I know there are lots of red and yellow warnings on my timeline - it is verified to all work fine if you stay within the parameters I mention below.

Note: when using the parametric customizer, your total number of slots parameter needs to be even.

The max slots you can print with a 256mm wide bed without slicing it into smaller pieces is 56. If you want to go deeper, dive into the Fusion project, change the depth, and rebuild the hinge for that depth. Easiest way to do that would be to make the hinge in parts as new bodies, then move/align it to the new back wall of your case and combine the corresponding parts of the hinges with their halves of the case.

A lot of work went into this! If you find this useful or neat enough, I would really appreciate any boosts, comments (especially with pictures of your setup!), and favorable ratings! And if you are seeing this before seeing or printing out CrispyW's counters, definitely go check those out and support him. He's optimized them very well.

Minimum: 10 counters

Maximum: 98 counters (lol)

- it should be noted that this thing is ~440mm, so you likely won't be able to print one this large on your printer anyways. The design can handle it, though 😤. Could probably just use some longer or additional hinges to support the greater lengths here if anyone wanted to go so mad.

Mine: 26 counters (for when my Helga deck is popping off)

Awesome model, fits the MiniCounters very nicely! My girlfriend needed some -1/-1 counters for her new Lorwyn commander deck so this will come in handy! Thank you!

Took the 10 slot version and just added some cubes in Bambu Studio to remove them since I only needed 8. Printed perfectly, even added a nice svg to the top to go with my game. Just need to order more magnets and I used a nail that was the perfect size for the hinge pin, pushed a little too hard.

Hmm, it should fit on the A1 mini already. Does it not? I’m not where I can check at the moment.

I did find that i had to work the hinges a bit sometimes to have it close well. Using a lighter to apply a small amount of heat helped as well. You want to soften the hinge pin just slightly, as that seems to be where the issue arises from. Just not so much that you soften the hinge too much.

Where can I find the mana symbol counters? I can't seem to find them anywhere.

it looks like he took it down for some reason. maybe because he made his account into a commercial account and those were trademarked symbols.

Hi! Yeah I took them down for trademark reasons. I'm working on my own versions of the mana symbols right now to replace them.

I can offer you a tutorial showing roughly how to do this! Check the description of this model for a relevant tutorial: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1973887-remixable-lid-for-custom-art-commander-case?replyId=5551038&;replyType=1#profileId-2122714

CrispyW released his new version, ClickCounterv1 https://makerworld.com/en/models/2653124-clickcounter-v1-coin-sized-no-ams-needed#profileId-2933398 Looks like the ClickCounters sit a bit wider than the originals (about 5.5mm assembled). Any chance you can modify the parametric file allow customization of the counter pocket dimensions in your design?

No plans at the time to update this model. I have worked a little bit on my own 2 digit counters that are a good bit thinner, and when I finish those, I will release an updated parametric counter case. No timeline on that yet, though, as I've got a new kid and a bunch of stuff breaking around the house!

It seems he took them down since they were trademarked symbols or something like that. I did not customize them, but you can find the SVG files for these icons online and customize them yourself pretty easily in BambuStudio. And I appreciate it! If you're interested, I also have a deck box on my profile that stores your cards and has a slot for a drawer containing dice and these mini counters. Check it out if you're interested! https://makerworld.com/en/models/1949432-commander-case-extra-compartment-version#profileId-2094530

hello there, thank you so much for this model. I was wondering, would it be possible to request a version that can hold 6 counters please? I would love to use this to hold my counters for my kill teams.

Thank you for the boost! As it is, the hinge messes up when you go any lower than 10. I have the raw fusion files posted, though, and you should be able to modify it down to 6 by removing one of the hinges and doing some clean-up work from that.

sounds good! In the end, I used your 16 holder, and removed the hinge, so it sits as an open holder on the tabletop. I like it, it keeps everything neat. thanks so much, I really love it!
