Functional expedition rack for SCX24 C10

Features:

  • Side-load battery tray with cover plate
  • Removeable rear spare-tire mount
  • Locations for traction boards on top
  • Spare toolbox with cover plate (access by removing rear spare-tire mount)

Optional Parts:

  • Rear toolbox latch plate without spare-tire mounts (will provide file in the near future if requested enough, so message me or comment)
  • Side-mounted fuel cans; A remix of “TRX-4M/SCX24 Gas Can Scale Rotopax 30mm” by FYCTroy, licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0)

            - I resized the gas can model to approximately 20mm wide (scaling by a factor of 0.09 from the original import size) and fused the mounting bracket to the gas can itself, so it prints as a single solid part.

- Original design © FYCTroy.

  • Clamp for functional traction boards (requires a screw, nut, and hole through top of expedition rack); if you want recommendations for screws and nuts, please message me, they are quite specific

    - Traction boards are a remix of “SCX24 Traction Boards 1:24 Scale” by Wego1975, licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0).

    - I scaled the model down by approximately 10%, making the traction board about 60mm long from end to end to better fit the dimensions of my SCX24 setup.

    - Original design © Wego1975.

Required non-3D Printed Parts:

  • Spare body clips x2

Assembly Tips:

  • I used J-B Weld PlasticWeld to mount the gas cans, traction boards, and entire assembly to the bed
  • If you have any questions for assembly, please feel free to message me or comment
  • If you are worried about performance in any way, DO NOT PRINT THIS ACCESSORY. I did not think it would add much weight up high, but it significantly increased the center of gravity, thus drastically impacting performance negatively. Removing spare battery and toolbox help to lessen the effects to performance when driving.

If enough of y'all are interested in this project, I'll create a version without the spare tire mount, toolbox, and battery tray to aid in performance with a decrease in functionality. Feel free to message me or comment with any issues/suggestions.
