Parametric Wind‐Whirl Generator
What it is
A fully‐parametric OpenSCAD script that generates elegant, spiral “wind whirl” sculptures designed to press‐fit a bearing. You get a hollow hub for the bearing plus twisting arms that catch a breeze, all customizable at runtime.
Key Features
- Hollow Bearing Hub
Precisely sized pocket (with clearance) for a bearing. - Adjustable Spiral Arms
Choose how many arms (e.g. 3–12+), how long, how wide, and how much twist each one gets. - Aesthetic Chamfers
Convert each rectangular arm into an airfoil profile by chamfering each leading or trailing edge—tune the “wing” shape for maximal wind capture. - Custom Wave Patterns
Add sinusoidal “wiggles” along your arms for sculptural flair. Control amplitude, frequency, start/end along the arm, and offset phase. - Outer Cutoff & Ring
Clip your entire sculpture to a fixed outer diameter, or surround it with a cylinder “ring” for a framed, contained look.
