Airless Volleyball — 3D-Printed Lattice Ball
Enjoy volleyball anywhere without ever hunting for a pump.
This single-piece lattice design uses a hex-cell shell that flexes on impact and springs back for a lively, consistent bounce.
Why you’ll love it
- No inflation, no leaks – the geometry provides natural elasticity.
- Lightweight yet tough – honeycomb walls absorb shock while keeping the ball under ~⅔ the weight of a standard ball (exact weight depends on scale and material).
- Flexible-filament ready – works great with TPU, TPE, or PLA Flex (Shore 90 A–98 A).
- Scalable – slice it from desk-toy size up to regulation diameter.
Recommended print settings
- 0.6 mm nozzle
- Layer height ≈ 018-0.3 mm, 3 perimeters
Note: Bounce height and surface softness differ from a conventional air-filled volleyball; expect a softer feel and a slightly shorter rebound.
