Description
Here is a window/door restrictor that has been working in my home for over 10 years!
At the time I only printed in PLA and some are still holding up. I specify that only PETG or ABS withstands correctly over time
FILES:
There are several things to consider in the printing file! (imperative need for double-sided adhesive)
- It is functional and installable WITHOUT accessories (except adhesive)
- If needed, you have the separate files to insert metal axes such as metal screws or threaded rods (it is up to you to judge your needs)
=> for my part I printed EVERYTHING from the COMPLETE version in PETG and it has lasted for years (even in PLA, not recommended)!
DETAILS OF THE TRAYS:
"COMPLETE": printing with support of the whole => remember to add an "opening" file (right or left necessarily!)
"OPENING": select by looking at your door/window and if the opening is Left or Right relative to you select the right file
THE REST: “Comb”, “Fixed fixing” and “comb support” are the elements that make up the “Complete” tray in a separate version so that you can slide your metal axes.
INSTALLATION:
You will need to have double-sided adhesive of a very dense but above all very resistant foam type!
I chose this fixing method so as not to drill the windows, therefore not to damage them (but also for tenants who will be able to remove this installation with a cutter blade and WD40)
Before applying the adhesive, wipe with a degreaser such as isopropyl alcohol so that it sticks really well and when you stick, maintain pressure for a few seconds, about 30 seconds (no need to hold for 5 minutes!)
ATTENTION !!
You mustabsolutely check the angle during installation and the movement of the window!
The comb must be able to rest its entire length in the “Opening” fixing (orange in the photo)
The photo is VOLUNTARILY a BAD example you can see that the comb is fixed too low and cannot be completely housed in the “opening” fixing, it must be well aligned!
you will probably have to do some "dry runs" before gluing => which I strongly advise you to do!
