Description

My idea is based on Depth gauge to radius caliper adapter by ChipCE.

I've made the radius adapter easier to install because of added screw mounts which are also 3D printed and you don't need any external materials so it's ready to use after printing the model.

I also changed the internal width of the adapter because the original one was made for 59mm width and mine digital depth gauge had 60mm so now it fits gauges up to 60mm width.

Adding measurement to the CAD program is quite easy:

  1. Put circle in the sketch.
  2. Draw the horizontal line merging the fragment of the circle and add dimention of 50mm or 20mm depending on used adapter for outer or inner measurements.
  3. Add the vertical line in the middle between horizontal line and the edge of the circle and add dimention measured by the gauge (find flat surface and set gauge to zero position before any measurements).
  4. Now you can check the diameter of the circle and use this data into your project.

You can also use the ready Calculator for this task thanks to Fuu.

In some cases you can use inner adapter as outer for measuring small roudness objects but it's up to you if you want to use normal caliper or radius gauge.

Print profile is made for PETG because I mainly print out of Sunlu PETG and I realy like this material for his layer adhession and sturdiness. Make sure your PETG is dry and everything should be alright. Otherwise you can print radius gauge adapter it out of PLA. No contraindications.

Update 08.12.2025:

I've designed the storage box for this model. You can find it here: Latching Box for Radius Caliper
