Description
A customizable cable grommet/pass through, for safely routing cables through holes without worrying about cables getting caught or cut on sharp edges. Ideal for neatening cables on desks, entertainment setups, or through floor panels. Includes option for a model cut-out to allow retrofitting where existing cables are run!
Designed in OpenSCAD and fully customizable via Bambu MakerLab!
Included customizable parameters:
The top section of the .scad features a number of variables which are exposed to MakerLab, allowing you to change all aspects of the model, as detailed below:
Main Parameters:
- Floor Depth: The depth of the cylinder that will extend below the lip.
- Hole Diameter: The diameter of the hole that the model will need to fit (Reduce slightly for tolerances).
- Lip Size: The additional diameter of the lip that the grommet extends beyond the whole diameter.
Retrofit Options:
A toggleable and customizable cut-out, allowing you to retrofit around existing cables.
- Cutout Toggle: Enables/Disables the slit down the side of the grommet.
- Cutout Width: Adjust to accommodate different sized cabling that need retrofitting.
Cylinder Lip Fillet Option:
A toggleable fillet that rounds the internal edge between the lip and hole.
Internal Variables:
Have exposed these for if needed, but for my use cases the defaults set have been perfect:
- cylinder thickness: Wall thickness of the cylinder, expands inwards to not affect outer diameter set.
- lip thickness: Additional height above the floor depth that expands outwards as the lip.
