Description

Summary

This is a basic bracket that can be bolted between the frame and front bumper brackets on a number of Toyota pickup and 4Runner models to raise the bumper to match a body lift. Since the front bumpers are attached to the frame, there will be a gap between the bumper and body after it's lifted. This is more or less a cosmetic fix for factory bumpers. Since they raise the mounting bracket up above the frame, the strength will be affected.

These brackets will generally not work with aftermarket front bumpers. Many aftermarket bumpers can be special ordered and/or modified to accommodate a body lift which is the best option in terms of strength, especially on a vehicle taken off-road or with a winch mounted.

They are designed to work with a pair of factory holes in the frame, in either a vertical or horizontal orientation. Simply measure the center-center hole spacing on your vehicle and edit the OpenSCAD file to match. Many of the later model Toyota vehicles have studs on the front of the frame to which the bumper mounts and these brackets are not suitable for that style of mount.

You can use a 3D printed bracket as a drilling template for a piece of steel flat bar, 3/16" - 1/4" thick is typical. Or import the OpenSCAD file into FreeCAD and then you can export it in a number of CAD formats for a CNC plasma, laser or water jet cutter or for a CNC mill.
