Introducing my most complex model yet—the Print-in-Place Scissor Lift! This model is designed to print entirely without support or assembly, showcasing the capabilities of 3D printing.

Features:

  • Threaded Screw Mechanism: Effortlessly raises and lowers the lift,
  • Functional Wheels: The wheels move, enabling the model to roll,
  • Easy Snap Base: Simply rotate the base as indicated by the arrow on the bottom, align it with the top piece, and snap it into place to complete the setup.

IMPORTANT: Gently free up the joints before using the screw by gently pushing down on the top and then lightly pulling.

I honestly had some doubts about how well this was going to turn out. It just didn't make too much sense how the peices can print over each other without causing problems. But here I am writing this out extremely impressed with the entire process. it popped right off the place and just worked. I didn't have to work anything around or Un fuse any parts. it just worked. I'm flabbergasted is what I'm trying to say I guess. Thank you for showing me what's possible with these machine.

Can you tell me what is the best orientation to print this? the default orientaion creates a floating error in Orca slicer

Printed out perfect! I made a mistake and forgot to free up the middle rotating brace and snapped the screw. Printing another as we speak! Thanks for the awesome model!

Oh no! Hoping this one goes well! make sure you gently push down and pull gently on the top of the lift to free up the joints first! Keep me updated!

It took a third try but I was able to get it with a filament change. Was using PLA and changed to PLA Tough (rip). I'm pretty sure it would've worked with PLA this time as I spent time each time the screw would get stuck to pull/push up and down a little to get the stuck parts moving. Now it goes up and down with ease!

Tried in PETG on X1C and after a bit of pulling and pushing I got it working. Amazing model and I can't believe how it printed the horizontal arms in mid-air! Thanks!!

A1 Mini - 0.2mm layer, 2 walls, 15% infill
Wow! This is one of my favourite print in place models. Printed with white ESun PLA+ in around 3 hrs 40 mins. There is some minor stringing on one of the bars, but it is a 1 inch gap to print across without support, so isn't a problem. might touch it up with some super glue. Thanks for the design.

I am particularly attracted to everything that is printed in a single solution and which then turns out to be an object with joints and movements. This is one of the projects that thrilled me the most. I wish I knew how to model something like that 😛
