Heavy Duty Connector
Print Profile(1)

Description
IMPORTANT NOTE: Print Horizontally!

If you print it with the “prongs” up or down, it will separate for sure, no matter how many walls or infill you add.
This is my version of a heavy duty connector, I need some quick connects for various reasons and incorporate these connectors into the design. I printed this with PETG-CF and the fit is EXTREAMLY snug, to the point you need a flat head screwdriver to get it out the first time, but after a few in's and out's, the connector should work more smoothly and doable by hand, especially if the part is attached to some bigger items.
I printed this with 25% infill, 3 walls. More infill might make it impossible to get apart again, but if you have a softer material (PLA) you might want more infill. The weak point of these types of connectors is usually at the bottom U between the connector rods, I have built it to be very strong, and another way of making it even stronger is to print it with a modifier increasing the infill just around the U bend, but it doesn't seem neccessary.
There is some clearance at the bottom of the female connector to account for a bit of debris or something.
Should be able to print without support or brims, but if you want to make sure, add painted brims.
These models are made to be worked into other models, I plan to use them for attaching things to my snowmobile and UTV in various ways that is secure even during travel and can hold a bit larger items.
If you use it for something cool, gimme a boost or let me at least know what you did with it!
