8mm Stainless Steel Balls (10PCS) - FA005

Description

Introducing Karios - a smaller one-marble machine that I've made to give out and welcome MIT class of 2029 to my campus. It has a simple manual elevator lift, a bridge, a bowl, and storage space for up to four marbles. It's made to be easy to print and assemble--all you have to do is snap the elevator onto the linear rail with a little bit of force.

The machine uses 8mm marbles (just like my other machines), but can be scaled up proportionally to use larger marbles (though it's really designed for one marble at a time). The design is intentionally small so I can print four at a time to more efficiently give them out. Still, I'm happy with the overall aesthetic. I've recently been trying to play around with springs and compliant mechanisms, so the marble storage uses a small spring that you might have to break off of the base a little.
