Description

Update(8/6/23): Added a low-interference version for anyone having problems with collisions with their toolhead cover. This one is harder to print, but it should solve the issue for people where they get rubbing with the support arm. This has steeper overhangs, recommend you print at a lower layer height with wider outer walls, which should help the print work. Added a picture of the model to the photo gallery.

Update(6/27/23): Minor revision to the design, added a couple missing fillets to the top of the snout. No need to reprint, but if you are printing again, might want to grab this version.

Update(5/3/23): I now recommend trying this one first over the parent mod, as I think it may be more generally superior with more upsides than downsides. It seems like it's been functioning well for a bit.

My original PTFE Tube guide fix for the Bambu Labs X1/X1C/P1P series here has been more successful than I could have imagined, and I'm glad it's helped a lot of people!

In this remix, I'm presenting a shortened alternative that may be desirable for some people for a variety of reasons. Provided in 3MF and STEP format in a single design that is compatible with both X1 and P1P. Shown printed at 0.16 mm height with 3 walls in cloudy white PETG.

There are some pros and cons relative to the original design, which should help you decide which is for you:

Pros

  • Quicker print/less filament (~2.8 g vs 4.5g)
  • Harder to destroy, more reinforced
  • May work better in certain scenarios where the filament is very stiff. I found the original model's curve restrictions kept forcing a very-stiff filament like eSUN’s ePAHT-CF to break, and I could not use it with the original design. With this design, I can print even this extremely stiff material! You can find my tuned profile for that here.
  • Cuter looking, protrudes less.
  • Probably slightly less finicky to print… less reliant on long overhangs. I would still use a brim, however.

Cons

  • Doesn't prevent the PTFE from hitting the glass as much as the other model.
  • Requires decent short-bridging performance in your print (I had no problems in PETG, as shown).

Printing instructions here are the same as the parent file from which this is remixed . Please see that link for details .
