Description

Desk fan case utilising standard 120mm PC fan. I have used Noctua NF-P12 redux-1700 fan but other 120mm fans should fit in well too. Respect parts orientation as attached in 3mf file. Main casing requires auto tree support.

Assembly guide:

  1. clean all supports precisely, then slot the fan from side into the main case. Respect the cable orientation so it faces bottom right side.
  2. put 4 tiny drops of hotglue on center hub and glue it to the stationary center fan hub
  3. insert / slot-in bottom casing cover to secure fan in place (missing “C” shape of the casing), should be nice and snug fit without need of glue
  4. Insert axis with two squares on sides into the bottom cover. Notice one side of the squares is slightly angled, this needs to face the outer side of the casing. Again, should be nice and snug fit and click in place. If it does not, use drop of CA glue.
  5. Test-fit the hinge on to axis, should nicely and tightly click in place. If it does not, resize hinge and print it 0.3mm smaller or so. Attached file worked fine for me. Please respect orientation of this part during print and this needs to be printed sideways, else you will break the teeth of the "claw"
  6. insert whole assy to the feet. Use CA glue or hot-glue to secure in place.
  7. Plug in 12VDC power supply to the fan… if you want just quiet and slight breeze, power it from +5VDC USB…

I have printed this from PLA silk+ and its nice and tight fit, so minimal glueing is needed for assembly.

Attached file has nice and snug fit, however stand feet and hinge are two separate parts on purpose, in case the hinge has very loose tolerance for you, you need to print just slightly resized hinge not whole feet. Once you are satisfied with the fit simply glue hinge to the feet.
