Handcrafted Leather Goods Hand-Stitched Wood Clamp
Print Profile(2)

Description
// 2025-09-26: Since not everyone can use the cut file function, I made the cut file into a 3D model. The printed template is 0.6mm thick and can be cut according to the template.
// 2025-09-25: MakerWorld updated the mixed model function, so I uploaded a cut model for the overlay part, including two types of overlays: 1. standard, 2. melted popsicle, flowing cream. The mobile app cannot see the association, so I'm putting the links here as well: global, cn

First, thanks to the creator for providing the STP file, which makes it easy to modify. This model is excellent.
Now, let's talk about the modified parts, compared to the original model:
Modified the shape of the fixture's locking knob, making it rounder and reducing the risk of snagging.

Shortened the vise clamping thickness by 5mm, reduced the thickness of the vise locking handle to reduce interference after folding (using 40mm screws)

Fixed the size of the embedded nut holes, using M5 hex nuts

Increased the depth of the embedded magnet holes in the main body. D6, H3 magnets can be fully embedded in the main body without any protruding parts

Added support blockers to the embedded screw holes in the main body, so no supports will be generated. No need to remove supports when pausing to insert nuts during printing.

To use 40mm long screws, I made some adjustments to the depth of the holes, using M5*40 hex head screws. The hole depth in the turning part is only 39. The TPU washer for the second part is necessary. If TPU is not used, another material needs to be printed to accommodate 40mm long screws.
Hardware:
- M5 hex nuts * 3
- M5*40 hex head screws * 3 (or two, the other one as needed; the vise clamping range depends on the screw length and needs to be adjusted according to the actual desk situation)
- Springs: I chose 0.7x7x20
- Washers: M5x10/9, can be bought or printed
The clamping range of the vise depends on the screw length. With a 40mm screw length, it supports thicknesses of 22-39mm. So if the desk is very thin, the vise should be shortened accordingly. Since the original author provided the STP file, it will be very convenient to modify.
Screws can be shorter but not longer. If longer, it will not be able to fold up. Reducing the screw length will increase the minimum clamping thickness.
