HM3X Scope cover to fit with Unity Flip Up

I run a Holosun HM3X magnifier on a Unity Tactical Flip-Up mount, which works great—until you try to use the stock lens cover. The original cap simply doesn’t fit with the Unity mount geometry.

So, I designed a custom two-piece lens protection system, optimized for this setup and printed in black TPU for durability and flexibility. The two caps are connected using 3mm diameter elastic cords… which, in the spirit of true field improvisation, are actually repurposed hair ties (thanks to my daughter’s stash).

The result is a snug-fitting, flip-friendly cover system that clears the Unity mount and protects both lenses without interfering with deployment. Bonus: it bounces instead of breaks.

Printed part files are available if you want to adapt it to your own optic/mount combo. Built for real-world use, with a hint of domestic resourcefulness.
