Compartment cover Yamaha XTZ 750

This is a custom-designed, fully 3D-printable compartment cover for the Yamaha XTZ 750 Super Ténéré, perfect for replacing the original lid of the storage/tool compartment.

I created this model with functional use and durability in mind, staying as close as possible to the original shape while enhancing compatibility with modern 3D printing materials and techniques. The upper hole is 19 mm in diameter, designed to accommodate a standard lock with key, offering both security and convenience.

⚙️ Printing Recommendations

• Material Used: ASA for the main body. It's UV-resistant, rugged, and perfect for outdoor use.
  You can also use ABS as an alternative if ASA isn't available — it performs well in similar conditions.
• Interface Material: I strongly recommend using PLA as the interface material when printing with ASA or ABS.
  I couldn’t upload a full project file because many slicers mark it as “invalid” due to the large temperature gap between the model (ASA) and the interface material (PLA).
  However, it prints perfectly with these changes in Support settings:
  • Top Z distance: 0 mm
  • Bottom Z distance: 0 mm
  • Interface pattern: Rectilinear Interlaced
• Brim: A large brim is included and strongly recommended — it drastically improves the quality of the overhangs.
• Bed Adhesion Tips:
  • Clean the print bed thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol before printing to remove any grease or residue.
  • Alternatively, apply glue stick or a specialized adhesion promoter to improve first-layer grip.

🔒 Lock Compatibility

The 19 mm top hole is optimized for most off-the-shelf cylindrical padlocks. You can either install a lock permanently or remove it as needed — it’s entirely up to your use case.

📐 Design Considerations

This part was dimensioned and tested on actual XTZ 750 models to ensure a snug and secure fit. The underside latches are designed to clip and hold as the original, offering a tight seal once installed.
