This model employs a dual ball-joint structure, enabling 5-axis articulation without compromising the original design. A 3D-printed base model combined with a 1:1 2D decal yields a highly accurate appearance and exceptional tactile quality, significantly accelerating the production process.

Traditional papercraft often requires rigid cardstock and adhesive for shaping, while self-adhesive paper is easy to apply but lacks rigidity. However, the base model drastically speeds up application, providing a robust, weighted structure that imparts a superior feel compared to standard papercraft.

Commencement

1. First, utilize namemc or LittleSkin skin libraries

Use these websites to locate your desired skin, obtaining a 64x64 PNG file (if it's 64x32, upload it to this website Minecraft Skin Editor - Online and Free and download it again).

1. Next, modify the image using the Blockbench website. If using manual cutting, directly scale to 1080x1080, skipping this step; only the section shown below is needed.

⚠️Note: For program-assisted cutting, strictly adhere to the arrangement in the diagram below to utilize the pre-programmed cutting paths.

1. Use the eraser tool to remove all non-first-layer skin pixels (second-layer skins are currently not easily producible but you can paste your favorite parts onto the corresponding parts of the first-layer skin).
2. Refer to the diagram below for arrangement using the selection tool, ensuring the overall dimensions do not exceed 64x64 grid squares.

Once finished, in the top-left corner of the website, select image-Resize Texture..., choose scale, adjust to 1080x1080 or larger, and export as a PNG.

(In the future, I may create an automated script to process your skin into a format suitable for the base model. Pixel Papercraft - Minecraft Papercraft and more This papercraft website is also highly recommended; it provided a lot of inspiration, but the structure is not suitable for my base model design; pure papercraft users can try this.)

Open the program's cutting file, import the image into Bambu Suite, adjust the layer order to the bottom, align it with the size reference image, place it below the pre-set cutting path, and then proceed with the normal printing and cutting process. For manual cutting, skip to the next step.

1. Using A4 white self-adhesive paper, print the prepared image using any software; after scaling, adjust the image to the actual size of 192mm x 192mm. Measure the length of the minifigure's head on the sticker. If there's a discrepancy from 24mm, adjust the image scale and reprint until the measured head length is 24mm.

   

⚠️Note: Different types of self-adhesive paper yield significantly different results. PET transparent self-adhesive paper produces stickers without white borders after cutting. Applying a protective coating to the paper improves the smoothness and prevents color fading; however, the base model needs to be white for transparent self-adhesive paper to display colors correctly.

1. Print a base model; it's recommended to print the joints in a dark color to prevent visibility during movement. After printing, remove the supports and proceed to the next step.
2. Apply the decals according to the 3D model diagram. Only a dozen or so steps are needed for completion. The sticker joints have pre-drilled holes for easy insertion of the ball joints. Note the direction of the upper limit of the holes; insert the joint, rotate it 90 degrees, then combine it with the other side, finally assembling the finished product.

⚠️Note: With standard A4 self-adhesive paper, unavoidable white borders may appear along the edges. A light application of a marker matching or slightly lighter than the skin color can effectively conceal these.

Many users may not possess both a 3D printer and an inkjet printer at home. The UP will offer pre-cut stickers and 3D-printed base models at a reduced price. This allows fans to experience the joy of creating their own minifigures and prevents potential mistakes in my own assembly (I will include at least two complete sets of minifigure self-adhesive paper).
