Description

Description:

This remix is based on a 3D scan of a Balinese Ganesha statue originally uploaded by Peel 3D on Sketchfab. The source model was a cherished souvenir brought back from Ubud, Indonesia. The original statue suffered minor damage during travel, and those details—like worn surfaces and missing fragments—remain visible in the scan, giving the print a sense of lived history and authenticity.

I imported the .obj into Bambu Studio, scaled and oriented it for optimal printing on A1, X1, and P1 printers. This is a single-piece model that prints cleanly without the need to split parts or modify geometry. I used Bambu Studio’s “support on critical areas only” toggle and found no additional supports were necessary. This makes it a relatively beginner-friendly print despite its detail.

This print was completed using Polymaker Marble Sandstone PLA with the Bambu Marble profile, though I manually adjusted the temperature settings to match Polymaker’s material specifications. The subtle texture of the filament brings out the natural stone aesthetic, highlighting the sculpture’s sacred tone without overpowering the detail.

Note: Tall prints can lose adhesion in the final moments. Please wash your build plate prior to printing. Or consider scaling down 10%. I've also had really good luck using BIQU Cryogrip Pro Frostbite build plates.
