Description

Strong modern car seat hook (kids safe - no sharp edges)

I needed one; my shopping items fell off the bag(s) when I did brake!

You may attach it easily at the rear or the front side of the seat.

Printed in PETG with 40% infill ratio. Please note, PLA is not recommended (the sun may degrade the material). Other than that, it never failed me😊

Cool design! But somehow it didn’t go well, it warped on one side on top of the support. Maybe I should try to low the fan when it does that part?

Hi Albert, sorry to hear that! Let's fix that... I would try another filament first, just in case it's moist. If not, try lowering the speed of the fan as you say and let me know the outcome.

Second attempt decreasing fan speed for overhangs to 60% didn’t help

I tried a third one with 10% fan speed and decreasing printing speed and got even worse. It might be moisture then. Unfortunately I don’t have another PETG spool to try.

I really like this design (as a matter of fact, I gave it a boost). But, it's too short to work on my Honda CRV. I took a quick measurement of the distance from the front of the headrest post to the back of the seat it is 69mm (this design as posted is about 45mm). If it's not too much trouble, can you modify your design to accommodate the vehicles with more room behind the headrest posts? Thank you!

Nice and simple design. For my Seat Ibiza the top hook could be slightly smaller in diameter but thats not a big issue.

Will PLA work well for this or does it have to be PETG?

The problem presented by PLA is this - The glass transition temp of PLA is around 55c (or 130f). At that temp, PLA items will start to deform. If you live in an area that gets fairly warm in the summer, and you have to leave your car in the direct sunlight, it's very likely that temps inside your car will exceed that temp. I live in an area where temps inside my car after being left in the sun get over 65c so PLA would not work in my use case. The glass transition temp of PETG is around 80c (175f). After living in the desert since the mid 70s, the temp inside my cars has never come close to 80c. YMMV
