Description
I know, I know, Bambu Lab doesn’t recommend using the A1 inside an enclosure. But I have my reasons: mostly to keep my pets safe (and to protect the printer from the pets).
This model is a modular 3-part system designed to help cool the A1’s motherboard when used inside an enclosure, especially in setups where airflow is limited.
- The first part attaches directly to the A1’s chassis, based on this model: https://makerworld.com/pt/models/489224-bambu-lab-a1-motherboard-cooling-fan-12v-bracket#profileId-402368 (I only used the clip portion that attaches to the A1).
- The second piece is an L-shaped connector that gives clearance for the A1’s screen to fold down normally and connects to the PVC pipe.
- The third piece connects to the end of a 32mm PVC pipe and serves as a mount for a standard 80mm desktop fan.
This setup lets you route fresh air from outside the enclosure straight to the motherboard area, using affordable and easy-to-find 32mm PVC tubing (at least where I live).
I highly recommend adding a dust filter either before or after the fan to prevent debris from entering the printer.
All parts can be printed without the need for supports to be functional.
