The Trap Door (1986) characters and logo

Don't you open that trapdoor, you're a fool if you dare! Stay away from that trapdoor, 'cause there's something down there...

Create your own diorama with the characters and logo for the 1986 animated series The Trap Door, including Berk, Boni, and Drutt. The original character models were designed for resin printing and I have attempted to make them more printable via FDM, as well as designing and including a three colour logo file. 

Supports are required for all character models. Take special care removing the slim supports from Drutt (the spider) as his legs are very delicate.

All characters are on their own plates, clearly labelled with the recommended filament colours. I used white and black acrylic pens to colour the eyeballs as I dislike the waste from un-optimised multi-colour printing.

The logo model is about 6cm x 8cm but feel free to scale it up (in the X and Y planes). The logo is a three colour print using white, black, and red filaments. Colour changes are programmed at layers 4 and 6. If you do not have an AMS, change the filament swaps in the slicer to pauses instead and print as follows:

• Start with white
• At layer 4 change to black
• At layer 6 change to red.
