Cabela's Slicer Bottom Guard

The Cabela's Jerky Slicer Bottom Guard Protector.

I recently joined in the fun of creating your own jerky via a pellet smoker. 

After the first 14 pound batch of hand cut jerky prepping the meat, it was clear I needed some help.

Jerky Slicer to the rescue to help with somewhat more uniform and MUCH quicker prepping.

I soon found out that the blades in this thing can be wicked. 

No fingers were injured, but I could see the potential dangers. 

Cut proof gloves were a savior for cleaning, but what about storage and transporting to and from.

It just feel natural to grip around the barrel for easier carrying, but that large slot and those blades!

And Hence the Slicer Blade Guard was Created!

This should fit the Meat Grinder jerky slicer attachment also,

I believe the only difference is the handle and base versus the motor mount.

If you have ever had to carry or store the Cabela's Slicer 

the blades are relatively close to the bottom of the cutting chamber!

This Guard will protect the bottom of the blades while storing 

along with protecting your fingers from accidental contact with the blades!

Especially Important for the Slicer unit made for the motor

due to that it doesn't have a base to help handle or protect it!

You may have noticed the recess has a flatter side to it. 

A grip edge was created to help with removal when getting the unit ready for use.
