Aruco Target for Head Tracking
Print Profile(1)

Description
A headphone mountable Aruco marker for head tracking.
Once mounted to your headphones, it can be used for reliable head tracking with an existing webcam and free software such as Opentrack, giving you a free or affordable head tracking option for simulation games, such as flight simulators, space sims, and driving games.
I use this when playing Elite dangerous and have found it to be for smoother and more reliable than other free options, such as AI face tracking. It's also very lightweight so you won't even remember you're wearing it!
The model is designed to print entirely without supports while providing enough strength to hold securely. You don't need to tighten it up too hard. No non-printable parts are required.
The target itself is a multi-colour print so please bear that in mind. For best results, I recommend a smooth build plate, though a textured plate should also work.
Please note: Aruco markers are designed to be printed in black and white. I cannot guarantee other colours will work correctly.
Assembly Instructions
- Slide the screw inset into the back of the target.
- Insert the screw into the target and tighten it finger tight so it's secure. Do no overtighten.
- Slide on the clamp, then threw the nut on to hold it in place.
- Secure to your heaphones using the clamp just until it's secure. Do not overtighten.
