I developed this caliper attachment for my Toolcraft caliper, lacking a simple and affordable commercial alternative. It facilitates measurements behind flanges or in other hard-to-reach areas.

My aim was to measure my bicycle rim without tire removal. The rims' significant depth precluded internal measurement.

Possessing only one caliper, direct dimensional measurement was impossible; I relied on 3D software and photographic references. The tool's accuracy isn't perfect but suffices for home use :) The measuring surface can be lightly sanded.

It's a press-fit, but not overly tight.

It is designed to enable measurements behind a flange or in other hard-to-reach places. I wanted to be able to measure my bicycle rim without removing the tire. Because I have very deep bicycle rims, I was unable to measure from the inside.

 

Since I only have one caliper, I could not measure the dimensions of the caliper and had to work with photos in my 3D software. The tool is not 100% precise but is sufficient for home use :)
