Description
This is my copy of the DT Swiss 370 Hybrid front hub service tool wen i needed to replace a damaged bearing.
Please take care as noted in the DT Swiss documentation (included for reference) https://www.dtswiss.com/en/support/manuals
To Service the bearings in the DT Swiss front hub with 15mm through axle, the end caps are held in place with retaining rings pressed into the hub body. To remove these, insert the alignment peg into the end cap (and not into the bearing) and apply a firm pressure, the cap and ring should separate. To reinstall, (reapply grease to the bearing etc) place the cap and ring over the bearing followed by the press sleeve and the alignment peg through into the axle and gently tap until the ring is flush with the hub body.
Use the bearing press tool with either a threaded press or carefully align the bearing and gently tap into position.
Additional user requested information.
Plates 1 and 2 are for removal and insertion of the axle end caps. I put the marks on the peg to help avoid catching the bearing while removing the axle caps, this is printed flat so the layers are strong when levering the caps out. the sleeve is for tapping in the retaining rings, it can be used on its own or with the removal peg to help with alignment. I also used a small hammer. plate 3, printed tall, is to insert the bearings with it has a taper so that tapping with a hammer or pressed in a vice applies the force to the outer bearing race.
Plate 1 can also be used to insert the rear hub non drive side bearing.
