Description

EXCALIPER: A Simple Anvil Vernier Caliper Holder.

Designed to have a fun way to store your vernier caliper on your desk or work station.

I have Neiko Calipers, so can only guarantee fitment for those, but I imagine most brands will fit.

Should they not, you can just buy a set of Neiko calipers to measure your other brand of calipers, and modify the .obj to fit yours!

The anvil is fairly balanced, but the heavier you make it the better.

I adjusted the model since taking the IRL photos, hence the v2 on the .obj file.

Moved the caliper location “forward” as it was just barely stable in the IRL Photos.

I ended up using some double sticky tape to keep it steady, and haven't actually printed the v2 as of the date of this posting.

One idea is to pause print and put some lead or steel shot within the infill, would make for an truly heavy stand! Sand may also work.

Higher % infill should have a similar effect.

Printed mine with no support @ 15% infill.

It will definitely need to be secured to a surface somehow if you print it @ 15%.

It will be very lightweight and move when you take the calipers out!

Try a higher infill or introduce weights to avoid this!

Both of these models are great, definitely check out the OG creators' other stuff on turbosquid.

Enjoy!
