Description

The original Bambu Lab spool holder works well but takes a lot of filament and is missing a few nice features, such as being able to see how much filament is left on your spool, having passthrough holes for respooling, and more places to stick the loose end of your filament.

The original locking mechanism is unchanged, and these will work interchangeably with the original version if you only want to do one side or something. The lock tab is still there for accepting the Bambu Lab refills and the original shims work as well if you want the extra locking power.

I would recommend you print this in something that can withstand a dehydrator. I used ASA.

I printed in 0.2mm layers without supports, with a light glue coating on the bed for ASA.

Printing using this profile for the second time! Works perfectly, and fast as well. comparing this with a spool I printed at 0.20 layer height and you cant tell the difference, save time, use this profile.

Printed great, used transparent PLA so I've updated the profile a bit to work with PLA instead of ASA (filament settings was the only thing I changed so the profile is great!)

Thank you for the feedback! I’m glad to hear you like the profile. Your print looks almost identical to the original spool 😙👌🏻

Not sure if it’s the design or the profile, but these are nowhere near as ‘stable’ as the Bambu Lab ones - the sides bulge so much it won’t even fit in the AMS unless you get the filament tension ABSOLUTELY perfect. 4 attempts and re-spooling and I got it right, once. Sorry :/ Still a good print if you’re just transferring over the cardboard refills though.

Hey @ArtificerMakes, this design is mainly directed towards someone who uses refills. I have tried myself to re-spool on this one, but I am using a different model that is not this flimsy - but it's fast and filament usage is low - You can contact the designer to ask for changes. I would appreciate if you would change the profile rating, unless you had issues with it. Thanks.

Works much better than the Bambu spools due to having points to secure the filament.
