Description

Use this to store cash (bills) on your keychain for use in emergencies.

[Warning: it should be periodically checked for tightness: I have used mine for months and (once so far) found it had loosened slightly open in my pocket. It is just a thread that holds it together against all the random forces in your pocket/purse, and just like headphone cables, crazy stuff happens!]

I designed this to fit on your keychain using the Bambu Makerworld keyring. It is very strong at the keyring hole, prints fast, and uses a bit less than 10g of filament. It also is sized to fit at least all bills between: USA, Canada, EURO, Australia, and China. But you have to fold them a certain way, see below.

Internal dimensions of the container (eg, what you can store) are: 43.5mm tall and 10mm in diameter for the entire two-piece cylinder.

  1. I did not test the waterproofing of this design, and it was not designed to be waterproof. If you use it for pills or anything that really shouldn't get wet, please use caution or go with another design. Please let me know if you want me to upload a design for an o-ring to fit into a recess or something like that. I don't currently have o-rings to test it with.
  2. The threads are always a bit tight on the initial printed model. Just tighten/loosen the two pieces together a few times and they slowly come together.
    1. I tested it with Bambu PLA Basic, Bambu PLA Matte, Bambu PETG-HF , Generic PETG-High Speed , and Bambu PETG Translucent. The only one that failed to thread correctly was the Bambu PETG Translucent using the default print profile for that material. I did not feel the need to calibrate it, and just stopped testing there. The other materials worked consistently.

Boosts help buy more filament for testing new designs! And it makes this amazing hobby feel that much more rewarding to see that people enjoy what you make.

Instructions for folding your bill are as follows:

Then, just roll it across and try to ensure it isn't very square on either end. You want it rolled into a cylinder-like shape to then pop into the Micro Cache

Also Note: I marked it as non-commercial so please get in touch with me if you would like to sell it.

Turned out just what I needed. I did scale it up a smidge just because I wanted to make sure my capsule was going to fit. Now that I actually see it I think the 100% size would have been fine. I still like how it turned out.

Appreciate the rating and the photo! Glad it worked even slightly bigger! Is the capsule a pill by chance? Just curious

I thought it matched my keychain model quite well, which I made in the same color

sorry to hear that, the photos should have shown what the size is like. it was also designed specifically for money, are you having problems fitting money inside?

Came out great. A little stiff in the threads with PETG, but it got easier after a couple of turns on and off. I'd rather it be a little tight than loose! Thank you for the great design!

This fits American money. how are you folding the bill? if you follow the photo instructions you should 100% be able to fit a US bill. now if the bill is extremely crumpled or you aren’t folding it tightly, that could be why. let me know if you are able to retry with a fresh/flat bill!

Great item. A bit tight at first had to screw and unscrew it a few times for it to loosen up but works fine afterward.
