Description

Summary

This is designed for the "Low Trail" TRX4m variants on the short frame rails, i.e. Bronco and Defender. It will not work for the TRX4m High Trail trucks, such as the F-150 or K10, as these trucks have a longer frame rail. It should clear up to around a 2.4" tire. This will be more for scale or trail than crawling, as it'll add quite a bit of weight higher up on the rig. I am hoping to make it so the hood will be hinged. I am working on stake pockets so the canopy will be easily removable, and it should also allow for future different rear arrangements, such as accessory racks.

UPDATE - 5/03/2025
I have added what will be functioning hood hinges and taken quite a bit of weight out of the body by strategically thinning panels. It will be printable in four sections, plus several small pieces. I am now working on headlight buckets and the bumpers and mounting system.

UPDATE - 5/18/2025
I've finally printed a V1 of the bumper and am working on a V2. My V1 had some issues with printbed warping, but fits very well on the frame and on the body. The clip isn't quite right; that should be corrected on my V2. I'm now working on a front bumper. It will be using the stock clipless system. I have also added all-new files with various small updates.

UPDATE - 8/2/2025
I got around to designing a front bumper and reprinted my rear bumper with tighter clearances. It's pretty close, but still needs a wee bit of work. I'm still working on mounting. I'll likely use the stock clip in the rear and a typical RC body pin in the front since I'm planning to make the hood open. It'll be easier to design and a little bit more secure.

UPDATE - 8/8/2025
I've uploaded new files for everything incorporating various small changes and fixes.

UPDATE - 1/30/2026

To everyone who has been patiently waiting - I am so close! I'm currently printing a final draft of the body, which should be perfect and all dialed in now. I tuned up and printed new bumpers, with tighter clearances so it's really solid now. I'll upload new pictures tomorrow with the new body mounted and everything lined up, then just tweak the pins to hold the body on and it should be golden!

UPDATE - 1/31/2026

I've updated pictures from a brand new print, as well as uploaded all new files incorporating tons of small changes to make the parts better. I also added parts to make it a pickup if you should want. I will update with a drop in bed soon. It's all coming together! I'm expecting to have a mounting solution done by next week (a week from now), and then I'll upload everything under a new listing just to avoid all the clutter. Thanks for the support guys!

UPDATE - 3/29/2026

FINALLY THE TIME HAS COME - I got a mounting solution figured out! I will be uploading new files and pictures in short order. If you've been waiting to print it, this is the time. I am testing fits with various wheel/tire/chassis combos for general fitment, but it is a fully functional model. At this point, I am just working on the fine tuning and functionality of the model.

UPDATE - 3/30/2026

New pictures and files have been uploaded. I tested the fit on the stock chassis and can confirm that it does fit the “low trail” versions. There is a conflict with the hood. That will be fixed in the next version. I am also planning to integrate the stock LED lights with custom headlight buckets. I will be uploading dummy taillight buckets that can be printed in red just for looks.
