Micro Modular Layout H0 Piko A-Track Compatible
Print Profile(1)

Description
Hey Guys,
Everyone dreams of having a full-scale layout room or running long, intricate switching sessions with the utmost attention to realistic operations and train handling.
However, sometimes – due to space constraints, time limitations, or even, let's face it, alien/cat interference – you simply want to run trains in circles without the fuss of elaborate scenery.
This print is designed to accommodate Piko A-Gleis track specifications, utilizing 30-degree sections of R2 curves and 231mm straight tracks. These straight tracks can be extended to 239mm in the slicer without any issues, perfectly matching the standard 470mm track section of the PIKO system.

The basic print consists of 12 R2 curved sections and four 231/239mm straight sections, one of which is a special power section. This power section allows you to run wiring through the print to your chosen power source without elevating the track further.

The track sections are intended to be glued together. However, with the tight-fitting pins, you can attempt to leave them unglued. This was the original idea, intended for a display track that could be easily moved in parts or sections for meets and sales events. If you glue/screw in the track precisely, the pins will ensure alignment without physically connecting the track. Keep in mind that this might necessitate using more power track sections or drilling down to the cable channel beneath the print. For which all secions are designed for with a channel running under the print to accomodate any additional cabling and minimize material use.

For faster printing, minimal support (around 5%) is sufficient. All parts print and connect well when oriented vertically. Since it's essentially vase mode with supports, a layer height of 0.2mm is more than adequate for good quality. If you plan to ballast and paint the track, a layer height of 0.28mm can also work, although it might require some extra attention on the curved sections due to the layer heights on the connecting surfaces.
I do not recommend printing the sections flat unless absolutely necessary. You can fit two R2 curved sections on a single print plate, but you will most likely need supports for the central arch.
Disclaimer: This is an ongoing project, with new pieces coming soon. This set represents the most basic loop. Turnout sections, additional curves, station platforms, and more are already designed and being test printed, and will be released if there is sufficient interest in the project.
