Instructions
Printing it
Clean your build plate for good bed adhesion. Make sure your filament is dry.
If this is your first time printing it, try out the single color or half pattern version, those are lighter and fly easier. Then try out the full pattern version.
Taking it off the build plate
First, let your build plate cool down as far as possible (less than 25 °C / 77 °F), you can take it off the printer to speed up this process.
Next, bend your build plate, this should loosen up the print, then you can carefully pull the butterfly of.
If it doesn't come off, try going under it with your fingernail, if it still does not come off, your build plate was not clean enough.
Winding it up
For strong flights:
Take a 45 mm (diameter) rubber band twice and wind it up until it becomes difficult (around 50x)
For short flights (if you don't want to scare people)
Take two or three 20 mm (diameter) rubber bands and wind it up until it becomes difficult (around 50-60x)
Place it in a card or book
Place it facing upwards and a little bit outwards, that way it will fly high up and not in the persons face :)
Important:
I have tried out many rubber bands and the ones that actually worked best and that were strong and durable were the ones from
Bambu Lab's Maker's Supply, so if your's doesn't fly, please order them from there!
If you have the Maker's Beginners kit, you also have some 20 mm rubber bands, you can take 2/3 of them.
