If you like the design I would be very happy if you support me with a boost.

After searching the Internet for a while, I realized that the prices of garages for my lawn mower were high even though they are made of plastic. So I decided that the best thing to do was to get down to work and make the   my own, taking advantage of a sheet of acrylic that I recycled I decided to use it as a roof and after a few hours of design this is the final result. 

 

GARAGE 1946 is the ideal home for your Robot lawn mower that you can 3d print yourself. I have used approximately one and a half kilo of PETG. In principle this garage is designed for the model YUKA MINI DE MAMMOTION, but it is possible that it is also compatible with other models, please note the measurements. 

Before starting it is recommended that you use a weather resistant material, PETG-CF and PETG has worked well for me, but I have given it a coat of varnish to extend its life. It is not recommended to use PLA. 

 

Internal or usable garage stockings: 

- Height 33CM at its lowest point

- Width of 47cm, (USING A 50CM X 50CM ACRYLIC SHEET), if you need a little more width you can simply put a wider sheet. 

 

Measurements of the sheet: I have used an acrylic sheet of 50cm x 50cm and a thickness of 3.5mm. Do not worry if you have a slightly thicker sheet, you can send me a message and I will gladly adjust the size or you can edit it yourself because I also include the editable file ( .F3D). I am also working on a screwable design where it is easier to install sheets of different thicknesses without editing, when the design is ready I will update the publication. 

 

 

 ASSEMBLY:

 

It is recommended to use an instant glue or similar for plastics, make sure that everything is well installed to ensure its stability and also be careful that your fingers do not get caught in the glue hahaha. 

 

You will find two versions, one with triangular bases with 25% filling or one with a hollow inner part, the bases with the hollow inner part can be filled with sand to obtain a little more stability (the idea of the hollow inner part is thanks to a suggestion from TORD, thank you).

I attached the acrylic to the base using an outdoor silicone, but you can use another strong glue. 

 

Installation:

For the installation you have 3 options.

  • If you want to install the garage on a solid surface you can drill some holes and install some guide brackets and then put the garage on them, you will find a reference photo. 
  • If you want to install the garage on the lawn you will find a kind of screws (you can see two versions, one complete and one split in half, the complete one is easier to print but is less resistant, the one split in half requires glue to join its parts but this one is much more resistant), place the screws on the lawn and then put the garage on them. 
  • Also if you want to secure the garage to a wall you will find some wall brackets.
