Hello everyone,

My wife wanted shelves for 6 compartments of our Expedit (they also fit Kallax shelves), each holding 3 Trofast boxes. Unfortunately, all models found here on MakerWorld require about 6 hours to print per pair of rails. This was not feasible due to time. I also wasn't particularly fond of the models, especially regarding the amount of material needed. Oh, and you can even purchase them from a huge online retailer starting with A... for €7.99 per pair of rails ;)

So, I designed something new

There are 2 printing plates. One contains 2 drilling templates (one for the front and one for the back), which allow for uniform assembly. Even by yourself!!!

You only need to print the template once, so both pieces

For assembly, you connect two rail sections each with a dovetail joint:

The rails fit both sides, so they are the same. The screw holes are deliberately offset so that the screws do not meet when installing opposite inserts!

Simply place the drilling template flush with the front edge, place a rail on top, and use the second drilling template to level everything. Insert the screw, then secure the template and rail with one hand, and screw it in with the other hand. It might be a bit awkward the first time, but everything fit perfectly for us

4x25mm screws proved to be very useful

Oh, and if you want to save some printing time, you can switch to Sport Mode after Layer 1 has been printed at normal speed, then the rails for three inserts are printed in about 7 hours. (This also works with PETG) You remember what I wrote above: about 6 hours for one insert. I think the numbers speak for themselves, don't you?

Everything else is self-explanatory with the pictures

I hope you like the design and maybe even leave a Boost. Who knows

Have fun with it

PS: I would greatly appreciate a review and/or pictures. Thanks in advance
