This is a lens Shade or Hood for the Nauticam MFO-1 underwater closeup and correction lens. The Shade/Hood will help to protect your MFO-1 from getting scratched while diving or transporting the rig. It will also help to reduce lens flare from your strobes, a common issue with close up lenses like the MFO.
The soft TPU rubber shade slips over the top of the MFO-1 lens and can be left installed between uses. Once installed the hood should fit snugly on the lens. You can pull it off at any time with just a little effort, but it won't move easily in typical usage. An optional TPU or PETG cap is included that will snap onto the front of the lens for use during storage or transport.
I use the MFO-1 screwed directly to my macro port using its included adapter. This rubber Nauticam provided cap will fit on the bottom of the lens adapter, and my included Cap will fit on the top of the lens for protection. Use a small sized zip tie through the two holes in the cap to provide a small handle for easier removal.
