Introducing a front-mounted drag chain for the A1 mini X-axis, entirely 3D printed and requiring no additional accessories. I also have a rear-mounted version available; download whichever you prefer.

Important Notice: In Bambu Studio, please enable developer mode and check both "Automatic Circular Axis Hole Compensation" and "Precise Outer Wall Dimensions". Failure to do so may result in an overly tight drag chain.

July 7, 2025 Update:

1. The drag chain has been redesigned to mitigate PLA breakage during installation. It is now a single-piece print. However, due to size constraints on the A1 mini, it must be printed in two sections.

2. If the first layer is too tight or adheres excessively, adjust the elephant foot compensation to 0.1 or higher.

For 256-size printers, print the single-piece configuration.

For mini printers, print the segmented configuration:

Some parts were a tight fit so I had to use a heat gun to get them on. Looks good

Printed well in PLA with no issues. As stated in other comments, fitment is tight. You can wiggle them a bit and the chain parts will snap in. Fitment circle 1 is very tight. There was a snap latch piece that broke off, but it's not needed due to the tight fit. Fitment circle 2 broke trying to place those ends together. Still works fine! Overall, great print 👍.

A perfect design, everything fits together perfectly and gives the little mini an awesome look. No printing problems, thanks for sharing. A small installation guide would be a plus. Quick response if we have questions 👌😉

Is it supposed to be a tight fit between these parts?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The drag chain is very good, it prints all at once without assembly work. If I may offer an opinion, it would be on the supports where the wire enters to fit into the chain; they are too loose due to the 90” curve angle. You could make that round piece with a square fitting for fixing, as I marked in the photo
