Description

This is a simple adapter sleeve that allows you to replace the out-of-production BA-3100/U and BA-1100/U zinc manganese dioxide batteries that are used to run the AN/PVS-2 and AN/TVS-2 “starlight” night vision scopes with a pair of readily-available CR2 lithium batteries. It does require a touch of modification to the negative terminal spring. The smallest coil of the spring is wider than the base of a CR2, so you need to either crimp it a bit smaller (as I did in the photo provided), or add a conductor to bridge the gap, like a wrap of aluminum foil. Some refurbished starlight scopes have had this spring removed in order to fit the very large 4xAAA adapters - in these cases, I don't believe this adapter will work, you may have to find a suitable replacement for the original spring.

Keep in mind, CR2 batteries are not CR123A batteries. CR2's are notably smaller, and CR123A's will not fit. The battery type is debossed into the adapter body to remind you of this.
