Revolver moon clip unloading tool
Print Profile(0)
Description
This is a tool for unloading revolver full moon and half moon clips. Simply slide the open end of the tool over the spent shell casing and twist. The shelf should press against the moon clip and unclip the spent cartridge. This allows for easily unloading the moon clip without bending it which will prolong its life.
The tool was designed around the .45 ACP cartridge using S&W 1917 pattern moon clips. The shaft extends into the base and will hold 6 empty .45 ACP shells. This should work for other models and cartridges. This is based off of available designs which cost between 10 and 30 dollars. Instead it only costs about 60 cents to print and I have not broken one yet.
I recommend printing out of PETG as the forces involved are low but the part needs strong layer adhesion. If you do not want to mess with the per layer settings listed below you can simply print with 7 wall loops throughout at the cost of additional print time and filament.
Required print settings:
.4mm nozzle
Wall loops (0-75mm print height): 3
Wall loops (75mm+ print height): 7
Infill density: 25%
Infill pattern: cubic or gyroid
