Description

Theses adaptors can be used to insert prescription lenses into your Meta Quest 3 VR set. For this to work, you'll need a pair of prescription lenses from a 3rd party. I used the lenses I had still lying around from some glasses I wasn't using anyway. To get the lenses out of the old glasses, I cut (and destroyed) the frame of those glasses.

To attach the adaptor to the VR headset, you need the Q3 lense spacer that you can find here on Makerworld:

https://makerworld.com/de/models/394307-q3-lens-spacer

Before you glue the lenses to the adaptor, make sure that you get sufficient grip between the space and the adaptor. If you need a tighter fit, just downscale the model a tiny bit.

Then glue the lenses to the adaptor. I used hot glue. For this method to work, your lenses need to be at least as wide as the adaptor. If the lenses are much wider than the adaptor, make sure that the excess part does not protrude to the center of the VR headset because that is the space where your nose will be.

You should know that you can get prescription lenses for quite cheap from various online vendors. I got the old glasses I sacrificed for this project for only 25 € incl. shipping.
