Description

The perfect print for any soccer fans (or football for my non-American friends)! This little buddy is a simple print in a single color but I have included a pre-painted version if you'd like it in multi-color.

I'd recommend 0.16mm layers so the top pattern doesn't distort, but you can also scale up to your desired size. If printing in multi-color, add more to your plate to maximize efficiency! Check out my other models and follow for more!

You da real mvp! Thanks for sharing this. The soccer team that I coach will appreciate it greatly! And to all the dimwits that are stunned as to how much purging happens when you print in MULTICOLOR, a picture is attached to show the amount of poop you will end with. THIS IS NORMAL. Print in single color if you dont like “waste” that much. Or buy a printer thats 8-10x more expensive with dual extruders and not the entry level 3d printer. Wait till they see how much poop you have when printing a multicolored 500% lego minifigure head 😂

Printing multiple is definitely smart in order to spread the waste across each of them. I'm just curious though, if the Black Pentagon's were shallower instead of going all the way to the center what would the waste ratio be? Sort of like doing the surface letter painting with a millimeter or two of depth. I'm not quite good enough in the slicer but maybe I'll give it a try.

Just catching up on comments but I like your logic. The only thing with the filament swaps is that they will happen on every layer that there are 2 colors, no matter how much depth on the black. The way I think of multi-color prints is that each additional soccer ball you print divides the total purge waste further. So you waste the same no matter if you print 1 or 12, so pretty much exactly what you said. Printing multiples is so worth it. I thought about redesigning this to have glue or snap fit black pentagons but I tried it and it's so much work to get them on that I don't think people would enjoy the gluing and the snap fits at this scale aren't super easy because they get really thin. I appreciate the comments and conversation!

These came out great. I did them in my granddaughter’s school colors. I printed three at once. Wish they were a little larger, but they are very cute.

Glad you like them! If you click on them, you can scale them up to be larger too, using the Scale feature at the top on the banner.

So a very very cute print and also a really beautiful final result Can someone else give me a tip so I don't get too much poop waste when printing multi-color

The real trick is just printing more of them at one time. Unfortunately, the limitation of a single nozzle on multicolor printing is that purge waste is inevitable. If you print more of them at one time, the waste doesn't change, because the filament is only swapping one time per layer, no matter how many on a plate

Did a trial print of this and even in single colour detail looks good. Might have to do a plate of these for my son’s football team!
