Updated (07/14/2024): &nbsp;Modified the profile in such a way that it has much cleaner looking edges on the honeycombed areas.&nbsp;Update: &nbsp;I added a modifier to make a filament starter slot in the center section of the spool. &nbsp;This way if you're using a spool winder you can secure the end of the filament into the slot to start the winding process. &nbsp;It should also release easily enough at the end of the spool when printing.&nbsp;&nbsp;This is an updated version of my previous honeycomb spool. &nbsp;I received a lot of comments saying that my original spool was a little on the flimsy side, and someone had mentioned that it was difficult to see the transparent filament stickers that comes with the Bambu filament refills. &nbsp;I've added a cross like pattern to the spool that prints normally with top and bottom layers leaving four sections that show the honeycomb infill. &nbsp;The cross-pattern lines up with the tag location for the filament sticker so the transparent stickers should be easier to read. &nbsp;I've also left the two little “Peep” holes near the tab for those who use a spacer with cardboard spooled filaments and need to line the tab up with the spacer. &nbsp;The “Peep” holes can also be used to insert the end of a filament if manually winding onto the spool from another spool.&nbsp;&nbsp;The profile is also setup for using ABS filament, so you may want to change it to whatever filament you wish ot use. &nbsp;I like using ABS, especially ABS-GF, so that if I ever want to put my filament in a dryer it can handle the warmer temperatures.&nbsp;

Cutouts Instead of a pattern, speed up the prints a decent amount if you just need to make a lot of them quickly. I tried a lot of different settings to try and make it print faster without losing quality and this is what I landed on with the given design profile.

This is the official Bambu Lab spool that has a modifier that turns off the bottom and top solid layers and has a 20% honeycomb infill that shows through, design by OldSalty3D, main difference being that the sticker portion is plain for better adhesion of the sticker. Also, as per suggestion, I changed the infill/wall overlap to 50% for increased strength

Based on OldSalty3D&#39;s great <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer ugc" href="https://makerworld.com/en/models/12683#profileId-385946">https://makerworld.com/en/models/12683#profileId-385946</a> Honeycomb spool with additions, snjames316 did <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer ugc" href="https://makerworld.com/en/models/12683#profileId-524323">https://makerworld.com/en/models/12683#profileId-524323</a> by removing the honeycombs. Unfortunately the RFID chip is then on one side always unprotected. Even if this might not matter I do not like it. Therefore I changed the cutout position, tweaked some minor pattern settings and switched back material to ABS. Result 3h 43min and 120g material. ABS because I do not want to take care about which spool I use in a dryer.

As you can see this is multicolored version of my V2 Honeycomb Spool. &nbsp;Personally, I think it's the perfect printable spool. &nbsp;It has a really cool honeycomb look, especially when printed with two colors. It has the peep holes near the tab if you're using some sort of insert with your refills that needs to be lined up with the tab. &nbsp;And there is a starter hole if you're using a mechanical winder. &nbsp;&nbsp;It does take longer to print than a single-color spool so if you're looking for something that prints faster check out my V2 Honeycomb version that is single color.&nbsp;&nbsp;I also like printing my spools with ABS just in case I want to dry the filament that is on the spool. &nbsp;ABS should be able to handle the temperatures of a dryer better than PLA. &nbsp;Printing these spools with any other material will work as well just be mindful of the spool when using a filament dryer.&nbsp;

I printed this in ABS so the spool would survive a stint in my filament dryer, enabling a Brim. If printing with PLA, you should be able to disable the Brim, like with the original designer profile.

Settings designed for transparent PETG.&nbsp;I  recommend that you use PETG, and not PLA because PLA is much more brittle and the parts may shatter. Modifiers added for the core and label space (to make it flat and solid) so you can easily put the label there

Modified/Remixed the Bambu Labs original refill spool with a custom sized disk on the surface. Done in PETG filament for strength and use in the filament dryer. Using for my P1S AMS and works with no issues.Layer height .20, 15% gyroid infill, speed 225mm/s outer walls and 325mm/s inner walls, top shell layers 5 and bottom shell layers 4.

Optimized for 0.6mm nozzle, save a lot of time. Its also just 180mm wide so it will fit on all Bambu lab printers, even the A1 Mini. Updated (07/14/2024): &nbsp;Modified the profile in such a way that it has much cleaner looking edges on the honeycombed areas.&nbsp;I really like my V2 honeycomb spool, but I use large labels that would not stick well to the honeycomb pattern. &nbsp;So, I've added a nice big area to one of the sides that accommodates larger labels. &nbsp;This seems to help the labels stick to the spool where as before the labels would just fall off because of the honeycomb pattern. &nbsp;I thought I would upload the profile just in case anyone else was having the same issue.&nbsp;If your curious as to what labeling system I use, I have found a really nice spool inventory app called Spoolstock that works amazingly well for keeping track of spool inventory, it can be found on both Apple and Android app stores. &nbsp;You can print the labeles along with QR code directly from the app. &nbsp;I'm currently using the Brother QL-810W label maker but the app will work with many other wireless label makers as well.&nbsp;

I had some trouble with the shims until I added the brims when printing it in PLA, so I did that initially. &nbsp;Then I decided to put the material name across the side of both halves to keep from forgetting they can't go in my heated filament conditioner. &nbsp;OldSalty's profile is a great spool, the shims in PLA just need the extra base support and the label came out really clean in the prints.
