Description
Hey there, fellow hobbyists!
I've created a handy 3D-printed Hong Kong dollar coin holder that's perfect for keeping your loose change conveniently organized (because who doesn’t have a mini mountain of coins?).
Features:
- Half-Circle Slots: The holder features curved slots for $10, $5, $2, and $1 coins, making it easy to grab what you need at a glance.
- Miscellaneous Slot: The far-right slot has rounded edges for easy pickup of odd bits and bobs or those pesky coins that keep multiplying.
3D Print-Friendly Design:
This file includes two versions:
- With design supports at bottom
- Coin holder itself only, in Bambu Studio’s auto tree support, allowing you to adjust the orientation as needed.
I initially printed without design supports in Bambu Studio but ended up with too many tree support and potential print failures. To minimize support. In auto position, some orientations seemed odd and risky, leading to potential print failures by tip over. So I drew support borrowed from Slant 3D's video and tilted the part at a 40-degree angle. As Bambu Studio doesn’t recognize the back bottom as an overhang, I manually added tree support for stability. I didn’t attempt printing without it, as that might lead to stringing issues. If you decide to try printing without it, let me know how it turns out!
You can remove the supports by wiggling them off or using nippers, but a thin blade can be handy for those tight gaps. If you’re okay with a bit of stress-whitening, you can leave them as is—printing in a lighter color also helps disguise that!
Welcome any feedback for improvements! And if you’d like a holder for coins from your country, just let me know.
Happy printing!
