Description

This is a simple and lightweight (< 25g) phone stand meant to be used with a MagSafe charger. The main print profile is for an inexpensive 3rd party charger from Amazon branded as MagEase. I have also tweaked the model and uploaded print profiles for Apple MagSafe Gen I and Gen II chargers based on specs I found online. Note that I haven't tested these models with the official Apple chargers so I can't guarantee a perfect fit.

 

The stand does not require any adhesives and instead relies on a friction fit. I found it the easiest to insert the magsafe charger starting at the bottom where the cable slot is and then pushing it in around the edges for a very snug fit so that the charger won't come lose as you remove your phone. I've tested printing with different filament brands (Sunlu HS PLA, R3D PLA Pro) without any issues.

 

Photo shows an iPhone 14 Pro. There's enough clearance to have the phone charge in portrait mode but an iPhone* Max would most likely need to be kept in landscape mode.

 

The print profiles that I have uploaded use tree supports (~4g) for the top overhang. You could print without it but it may result in some minor defects on the bridging. I have also experimented with variable layer heights with generally poor results (e.g. very visible shifts) and instead settled on a 0.16mm layer height as a compromise between quality and speed.
