Description

I made this grand piano shaped box with 12 working keys.

  • NO SUPPORTS

  • NO NEED AMS

  • EASY PRINT AND ASSEMBLY

The lid can remain both closed and open like a real piano.

I used a Smooth PEI plate to print on to make the keys as realistic as possible.

Assembly instructions:

1: insert the springs into the keys like this (no glue needed)

2: Insert the pin into all the keys and fix it at both ends with the tabs (no glue needed).

ps: clean the brim around the pole well because the keys must fit comfortably.

3: Glue the feet.

Very cool! I might adapt the spring section for real metal ones, or maybe some tpu blocks for squishiness. I am going to install an adapted model in public as an art piece, so it will be touched!

Ended up using the printed springs. The tpu wasn’t squishy enough.
